The Community Foundation acknowledged 12 Henrico County educators for excellent instruction for 2021. Three Henrico County Public Schools instructors received the REB Award for Teaching Excellence, and 9 further academics had been finalists.
Megan Bouton, Echo Lake Elementary School (kindergarten instructor): $11,400 to review the early experiences of youngsters in Finland and go to kindergartens and out of doors “forest colleges” in Denmark, Sweden, and the Pacific Northwest.
Robert Peck, Douglas S. Freeman High School (authorities instructor and director of HCPS’ Center for Leadership, Government and Global Economics): $15,000 to discover ideas of citizenship, constitutionalism, and American id by touring to the Caribbean, Micronesia, and Native American tribal lands.
Derek Podolny, Douglas S. Freeman High School (math instructor): $14,300 to discover the mathematical and historic foundations of varied navigational methods and apply them in actual world settings.
