On May 17, 2021, Henrico County unveiled two historic markers at Wilton Farm. The plaques inform the story of the land’s silenced majority – enslaved employees who labored within the farm’s wheat and tobacco fields many centuries in the past. The 1200-acre plot was additionally an integral a part of the lives of early Native Americans.

The county bought Wilton Farm in 2019. The bulk of the land, which incorporates two giant lakes and almost three miles of river frontage, will probably be preserved for leisure use.
