From Fox Elementary to Monroe Park, households marched by way of the Fan neighborhood on Saturday demanding the General Assembly give more cash for localities to repair growing old college buildings.
“Regardless of why the fireplace began, it [Fox elementary] doesn’t burn down if it had sprinklers in it and it was by no means retrofitted for sprinklers,” Becca DuVal, one of many organizers of the march mentioned.
DuVal says whereas the group is continuous to get well from the Fox Elementary fireplace, she hopes more cash will come from the General Assembly to restore the greater than 110-year-old constructing.
She says she started to plan the march after she realized Fox is just not the one college in Richmond deteriorating.
